On Wednesday, June 6, The Intercept co-hosted “The Battle for Paradise,” an event featuring Elizabeth Yeampierre, Naomi Klein, Juan Gonzalez, and two leading activists from Puerto Rico. The event focused on how, in the wake of Hurricane Maria, the forces of disaster capitalism are seeking to undermine the Puerto Rican people’s vision for a just and renewable future.
